Cheryl Kalas: There aren’t that many companies that I’ve done business with these days that have had the integrity that your company has had. I mean, you say you’re going to do certain things, and they’re all done the way you say you were going to do them. They’re all timely. They’re fair. It’s nice to deal with intelligent people that are pleasant.

Speaker 2: Nice. Nice. Thank you.

Cheryl Kalas: And considerate. I’ve had so many bad experiences with so many different companies, not real estate companies or anything, but people get leery about something that sounds too good to be true. When it does sound too good to be true, you’re very cautious and suspicious. I checked the Better Business Bureau for a number of different companies. I got bids, or I should say-

Andrew Obermark: Offers.

Cheryl Kalas: Offers, yeah. I got offers from three different companies. Yours was the best offer, but not only that, yours was the best offer, plus you said the short period of time. It was exactly what you said it was going to be. The other companies were lower, but they also … they weren’t giving me the same benefit as far as the time frame that they said up front that they would.

It was no contest. You guys did it right the first time. I didn’t have to go back and forth with you. You were fair and honest. It was wonderful. You just go, “Wow.” It’s so nice. It’s refreshing.

Speaker 2: Nice. What time frame did we give you?

Cheryl Kalas: It was a 10 day-

Speaker 2: 10 days?

Cheryl Kalas: Escrow.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Cheryl Kalas: I think it actually went less than that. I just wanted to have it done and over with before the holidays, because I didn’t want to deal with it anymore. Everything just went smoothly, no problem. It was wonderful. It’s so easy. You say it’s going to be easy, and it was one of the easiest things I ever did. It was just fantastic to be able to be relieved of the responsibilities finally and to have everything go smoothly. Everybody did what they said they were going to do.

Andrew Obermark: Awesome.

Cheryl Kalas: It is. It is awesome. In this day and age, it’s awesome.

Speaker 2: Yes, and you sold it in as-is condition. You have to do any work or anything like that?

Cheryl Kalas: No. No, I’ve been trying for years to get my father to let me do work on his house. He’d always says, “No, no.” I finally gave up. I said, “Okay, I’m not asking anymore.” It was embarrassing for me to sell it like that, because it was so old, and it really needed a lot of things done to it.

While you offered me something that was much higher to start with, I said, “No, no. I know it’s not going to be worth that. I really want you to come in and look at it first.” You were still extremely fair. I never thought I’d get that much for that particular house. It was just flabbergasting to me. I was like, “Really? That’s wonderful.”

Each of the other two companies that I dealt with, when I told them I had selected a different company, they both backpedaled and said, “We can maybe bump it up to this.” I said, “I’m sorry, I’ve already agreed.” But they still didn’t come up to where you guys were. They still had longer escrow [crosstalk 00:03:28].

Andrew Obermark: So they were just increasing their offers?

Cheryl Kalas: Mm-hmm (affirmative).

Speaker 2: You mentioned they had a longer escrow.

Cheryl Kalas: They started out with a 21-day escrow, and they said, “Yeah, we can close this in seven days.” I thought, “Why are you giving me 21 days?” I don’t want to wait that long. The house was paid for. There’s no big deal about it as far as paperwork. I didn’t understand why you threw 21 days out there to start with. I said, “No, that’s not what I want.”

Speaker 2: So they weren’t willing to put in writing 10 days or a short timeframe?

Cheryl Kalas: No, he just started out and said, “We’re going to do a 21-day escrow.” I thought, “Okay, I’m still working with some other people, so we’ll see.”

Speaker 2: I see.

Cheryl Kalas: I told them I wanted to wait a few days to decide. I put him off for a few days, and he said fine. He gave me a deadline. I called him by the deadline and said, “Sorry, I’m going with somebody else.”

Speaker 2: We’re glad that you went with us. Thank you.

Cheryl Kalas: Me too.

Speaker 2: Awesome. Awesome. Anything else that you want to add or share?

Cheryl Kalas: I don’t know what other people do. I always just felt that if I got at least three offers, then I was being fair to my father as far as getting comparisons to make sure I was in the ballpark and so forth, because I had no idea what the house would be worth. You guys decided it was worth a lot more than I ever thought I was going to get for it.

I did talk to a lady that you referred to me, Alice. Do you remember Alice?

Andrew Obermark: Mm-mm (negative).

Cheryl Kalas: You sent me a message and said you gave her my number. She did call, and I talked to her at length. I explained all the things that I had done to determine why I went with you guys.

Andrew Obermark: Sure.

Cheryl Kalas: And explained what I did with the other companies and so forth. After our conversation, she says, “Well, I don’t have to look anymore.” She says, “I’ll just going to call them.” I said, “You won’t be sorry.”

Andrew Obermark: That’s awesome.

Speaker 2: Great. Great.

Andrew Obermark: That’s awesome.

Speaker 2: Thank you, Cheryl.

Cheryl Kalas: Even the mortgage company, the title company-

Speaker 2: The title company.

Andrew Obermark: The title company.

Cheryl Kalas: The title company. Everybody there was wonderful. All the paperwork was done quickly. They were friendly, cooperative, went off without a hitch.

Andrew Obermark: Good. Awesome. They came to you and all that good stuff? [crosstalk 00:05:52]?

Cheryl Kalas: We went to them. Yeah, oh yeah. No problem.

Speaker 2: Because you’re really close. You’re local.

Cheryl Kalas: They’re local. It’s no big deal.

Speaker 2: Okay, good.

Cheryl Kalas: It was wonderful.

Speaker 2: Good. Good. Thank you, Cheryl.

Cheryl Kalas: I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Andrew Obermark: Do you have any other problems?

Cheryl Kalas: No, sorry. Just mine.

Speaker 2: Okay, nice. Nice. Thank you so much for helping us by coming in.

Cheryl Kalas: Sure. My pleasure.

Speaker 2: We’re glad that we could help you.

Cheryl Kalas: When I have people like you I can deal with, I’m more than happy to come in and tell anybody. If you want to refer other people, I’m more than happy.

Andrew Obermark: That’s really appreciative. Thank you so much.

Cheryl Kalas: That seemed to help her a lot. She was like me. She was paranoid and suspicious. It’s like, this sounds too good to be true. It worked out great. She wanted to know my dad’s name so she could check to see, and when it closed, and all that. I said, “No problem. Here it is.” She had checked what I had said, and says okay.

Andrew Obermark: Perfect.

Speaker 2: Great.

Cheryl Kalas: No problem.

Andrew Obermark: Perfect, yeah.

Cheryl Kalas: I’m assuming she got back to you.

Andrew Obermark: Honestly, I can’t think what property that is right now off the top of my head, just with the holidays and how many things we have going right now. I have to look, and I have to be sure, but I can’t even think of what property that is.

Cheryl Kalas: No problem. I just know that she’s been very satisfied, because she had the same concerns I had.

Andrew Obermark: Good.

Cheryl Kalas: I seemed to alleviate those.

Andrew Obermark: That’s awesome. That’s great.

Cheryl Kalas: I’m more than happy to talk to other people if you want.

Andrew Obermark: Thank you.
